Pramono Invited to Malaysia as a Speaker at the ASEAN Forum 2025
Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is scheduled to be a speaker at the ASEAN Forum 2025 during an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, through Wednesday.
The Governor’s Special Staff for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, said Pramono’s visit was in response to an invitation from the Secretary-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Wira M Noor Azman bin Talib; the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif; and the Secretary-General of UCLG ASPAC, Bernardia Irawati Tjandradewi.
“The Governor of Jakarta will carry out a three-day working visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 11 to 13,” he said on Monday.
In addition to holding bilateral meetings with the central and local governments, Pramono will also be a speaker at several international forums, namely the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanization Forum (ASUF), the Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC), and the ASEAN Governors and Mayors Forum (AGMF).
ASUF, MGMAC, and AGMF 2025 are three regional forums that form part of the official events under Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship, themed “ASEAN Future Cities and Regions: Inclusivity and Sustainability.”
“These three forums are high-level meetings discussing the importance of inclusive, sustainable, and resilient urban development in facing future challenges,” he said.
Chico explained that the event addresses inclusive, sustainable, and resilient urban development to meet future challenges. Pramono is scheduled to be a keynote speaker in several sessions, including:
