Chandra Asri Group and Indonesian Ministry of Defense Strengthen National Resilience Through Komcad Latsarmil 2025 Program
Jakarta. PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) has partnered with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan RI) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) inaugurated the 2025 Basic Military Training for Reserve Components (Latsarmil Komcad). Held at the Cavalry Education Center in Padalarang, West Java, this program marks a concrete step by both parties to shape a resilient young generation ready to defend the nation.
Following the cooperation agreement signed last May, the program is joined by 181
students from the Banten Petrochemical Industry Polytechnic (PIPB) who passed a selection process out of more than 200 applicants. Overall, the program targets participation from 500 students to be implemented in several phases. Throughout the training, participants will be equipped with basic military skills, leadership training, and values of patriotism. The goal is to ensure that PIPB students not only excel in technical competence but also embody strong character, discipline, and fighting spirit.
Chandra Asri Group’s Legal, External Affairs & Circular Economy Director, Edi Rivai, emphasized that this collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to contributing beyond industrial development.
“This program is a strategic opportunity for us to ensure that PIPB students are not only ready to enter the workforce with technical skills, but also equipped with resilience, leadership, and the ability to make real contributions to Indonesia’s future,” he said.
Notably, this initiative marks the first Komcad collaboration in Indonesia involving the private sector.
Director of Defense Resources at Kemhan RI, Brigadier General Hengki Yuda Setiawan, highlighted the positive synergy between industry and the military.
“This proves that synergy between industry and the TNI is essential—not only for national defense but also in shaping an excellent, disciplined generation ready to contribute to companies, industries, and the advancement of Indonesia,” Hengki stated.
The participating students come from three PIPB majors: Process Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Instrumentation Technology, all of which are relevant to the needs of the national petrochemical industry.
As PIPB’s main partner, Chandra Asri Group not only initiated its establishment but also actively contributed to curriculum development to align with industry needs. As a result, PIPB graduates are expected to become not just skilled workers, but also reliable human resources ready to strengthen the national industry.
