Chandra Asri Strengthens ESG Standing With Higher S&P Global CSA Score
Jakarta. Chandra Asri Pacific’s sustainability assessment score jumped to 66 in 2026 from 52 a year earlier, as the company continues to expand its ESG disclosures and reporting on sustainability-related risks.
The company, also known as Chandra Asri Group, said the 14-point improvement in its S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score reflects its efforts to make ESG information more transparent, accessible and credible to stakeholders.
A key part of the effort has been the publication of sustainability information and supporting documents, along with independent third-party assurance of the company’s 2025 Sustainability Report.
Publicly available information is among the sources considered under the S&P Global CSA methodology. For Chandra Asri Group, improving the quality of such disclosures is therefore part of its broader approach to communicating its sustainability practices.
The assessment also provides a reference for the company as it evaluates its ESG progress within Indonesia’s capital market. S&P Global works with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to assess ESG performance among listed companies, with the results also supporting the development of ESG-based indices.
Andang Pungkase, Head of ESG & Sustainability at Chandra Asri Group, said the improved score signals progress in the company’s efforts to strengthen ESG transparency, while emphasizing that its sustainability agenda extends beyond reporting.
“The increase in our S&P Global CSA score is one indication that our efforts to strengthen transparency and the quality of ESG disclosures are moving in the right direction. For us, strengthening ESG goes beyond improving reporting quality. It is also reflected in how we manage sustainability risks and implement responsible practices across our supply chain. Going forward, we will continue to advance ESG practices that are relevant to our business and create long-term value for Chandra Asri Group and our stakeholders,” Andang said.
Chandra Asri Group has expanded its sustainability reporting through several thematic publications covering risks that could affect its business and operations.
Among them is the Climate Risk Report, which follows the IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures standard. The company has also issued separate reports on emerging risks, water risks and biodiversity risks, providing stakeholders with more detailed information on how these issues are identified, assessed and managed.
Its ESG efforts also extend to its supply chain. The company recently issued a standalone Supplier Code of Conduct to set out more detailed expectations for suppliers, separate from the company’s own Code of Conduct.
The guidelines cover responsible business practices in areas including ethics, compliance and sustainability.
The higher CSA score comes as Chandra Asri Group continues to incorporate sustainability considerations into its business operations and risk management.
The company said it will continue adapting its ESG practices to changing business conditions and stakeholder expectations, with a focus on creating long-term value and positive impact across its wider business ecosystem.
