BNI Sirnas A Purwokerto Helps Nurture Young Badminton Athletes
Jakarta. State-owned bank BNI is helping the badminton-loving Indonesia to nurture young athletes, among others, by hosting the national circuit A championship, also known as the BNI Sirnas A, in Purwokerto, Central Java.
According to BNI corporate secretary Okki Rushartomo, the bank is giving its full support for badminton development, both at the subnational and national levels. This is also part of BNI’s support for the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in finding the best talents across the region.
“BNI is gladly ready to help PBSI’s efforts to drive the development of badminton athletes at the subnational level. This marks the second year for BNI, particularly our Purwokerto branch, to be the main partner of the national circuit,” Okki was quoted as saying in a press release over the weekend.
“We hope that the athletes’ quality has the same standards across the region. We also wish for Purwokerto to do its best in the national badminton achievements. And of course, BNI will always be there as a partner in nurturing those athletes so Indonesia can go higher at the global level,” Okki said.
The BNI Sirnas A Purwokerto is the third series of the 2023 BNI Sirnas after the leg in Batam, Riau Islands. The tournament took place on March 6-11 at GOR Satria in Banyumas, Purwokerto.
BNI Sirnas becomes a breeding ground for potential young athletes. Participants can collect points needed to enter the PBSI national training camp.
BNI also set up an interactive booth at the 2023 BNI Sirnas A in Purwokerto.
