BNI Rolls Out Anti-Phishing Guide PERIKSA
Jakarta. State-owned bank BNI has rolled out PERIKSA, a campaign meant to encourage corporate customers to watch out for phishing schemes.
This initiative aims to raise awareness of the risks of cybercrime, particularly phishing, which is increasingly prevalent amidst the rise in digital transaction activity.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that this education is part of the company's commitment to maintaining the security and comfort of its customers, especially those using the BNIdirect service.
"Phishing is an attempt to steal sensitive data such as user IDs, passwords, and PINs through fake messages or links that resemble official communications. The obtained data is then used by the perpetrator to access accounts and conduct transactions without the customer's knowledge," Okki was quoted as saying in a press statement.
Through the PERIKSA guide, BNI not only provides a secure system but also encourages increased digital literacy among customers to be more vigilant in their transactions.
According to PERIKSA, customers are encouraged to use an official email address to avoid potential phishing or malware. It is also best to use unique and strong passwords with complex character combinations and update them regularly. Customers should keep company IDs, user IDs, and passwords confidential. BNI also highlighted the importance of using personal devices (individuals and devices) and avoiding risky public Wi-Fi networks.
Customers are advised to visit the official BNIdirect address to avoid fake websites that mimic banking services.
The Service Action Team (SAT) will be available via the official channels provided.
Finally, customers are asked to review transaction details before authorizing to ensure there are no errors or potential misuse.
"BNI encourages all customers to play an active role in maintaining transaction security. With high vigilance and the use of official channels, a safe and trusted digital banking ecosystem can be realized," Okki said.
Educational measures such as PERIKSA are an important part of building a culture of safe digital transactions, where collaboration between banks and customers is key to maintaining trust and the sustainability of the digital financial ecosystem.
