BNI Continues Backing PBSI as Indonesia Competes at BAC 2026
Jakarta. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has reaffirmed its support for the development of national sports by backing Indonesian badminton athletes competing in the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) 2026 at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, China, from April 7–12, 2026.
Indonesia’s participation in the continental tournament forms part of broader efforts to maintain its position as one of the world’s leading badminton powerhouses, while also gauging athletes’ readiness for global competitions.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the bank’s support for the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) reflects a long-term commitment to nurturing athletes capable of excelling at the international level.
“BNI believes that sports serve as a strategic instrument in building national pride while enhancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness. As a partner of PBSI, we remain committed to continuously supporting sustainable athlete development,” Okki said in a written statement.
As a strategic partner of PBSI for more than five years, BNI has consistently supported athlete development from early stages to the elite level. This support aligns with the national development agenda to foster high-quality and competitive human resources.
Several promising young athletes, including Alwi Farhan, Putri Kusuma Wardani, as well as men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin, are part of the Indonesian squad competing in the tournament.
BNI views Indonesia’s participation in BAC 2026 as not only targeting achievements but also strengthening international match experience and building a championship mindset.
The synergy between state-owned enterprises, sports federations, and athletes is seen as a key factor in creating a sustainable and globally competitive sports ecosystem.
Through its continued support, BNI hopes Indonesia will consistently produce high-achieving athletes capable of upholding its winning tradition and elevating the nation’s name on the international stage.
