Jakarta. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) reported a 6.5% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rp 10.75 trillion ($599.5 million) in the first half of 2026, supported by strong lending growth and higher net interest income.
According to the state-owned lender's financial statement released on Wednesday, net interest income rose 14.2% to Rp 22.28 trillion, as interest income climbed nearly 15% to Rp 38.63 trillion, offsetting a 15.9% increase in interest expenses.
BNI's outstanding loans expanded 24.4% year-on-year to Rp 969.54 trillion during the January-June period, significantly outpacing the Indonesian banking industry's average loan growth of 12.67%.
