Astra International Wins ESG Eco Innovation Award at ESG Appreciation 2025
Jakarta. Indonesian conglomerate Astra International recently brought home the ESG Eco Innovation award at the ESG Appreciation event.
Mohammad Taufan, the head of sustainable strategic management at Astra, accepted the award at the event hosted by B-Universe at Hotel Mulia in Jakarta on Thursday evening. The award recognizes companies that have implemented environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles in a concrete and impactful manner.
The Eco Innovation category honors the companies deemed successful in delivering environmentally-based innovations. This includes energy efficiency, green innovations, as well as technologies to cut emissions and improve operational sustainability.
The award recognizes Astra International's green technologies and business technologies. The award applauds Astra's consistency in creating environmental value through its development of low-emission vehicles, conservation programs, and the integration of technology to support sustainability.
The 2025 ESG Awards theme is "Building Sustainability Together", reflecting the importance of cross-sector collaboration between businesses, government, and communities in realizing sustainable development. The awards cover eight categories reflecting environmental, social, governance, and sustainable innovation aspects.
The assessment process involved qualitative and quantitative research by the Datasatu.com team, the BeritaSatu editorial team, and an independent team led by Jerry Marmen. The judges paid attention to secondary data, such as sustainability reports, media publications, as well as documentation of companies' actual ESG implementation activities.
