Astra Wins Fortune Award for Largest Workforce as Employees Top 190,000
Jakarta. PT Astra International Tbk (Astra), supported by a workforce of more than 190,000 employees, has once again been recognized among Indonesia's 100 largest companies in the Fortune Indonesia 100 2026.
The company also received the Fortune Indonesia Outstanding Growth 2026: Biggest Company by Total Employees award at the Fortune Indonesia 100 Gala held in Jakarta on Sept. 17.
Fortune Indonesia 100 ranks 100 companies that have made significant contributions to the national economy. Astra placed fourth in the annual ranking. The 2026 ranking is based on companies' audited 2025 financial reports, assessing key indicators including revenue, net profit, total assets, equity, and market capitalization.
The workforce recognition highlights Astra's position as the company with the largest number of employees in the ranking.
“We view this award as encouragement for all Astra people to consistently deliver their best in conducting our business activities and contributing to Indonesia,” Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto said.
“As Astra approaches seven decades of its journey, we hope to continue creating value and growing alongside Indonesia while delivering broader benefits to society, in line with Astra's aspiration to Prosper with the Nation,” he added.
Investing in People and Sustainable Growth
Astra currently has 324 subsidiaries, joint ventures and associated companies operating across three core businesses: automotive, financial services, and mining and heavy equipment solutions. The company also operates businesses across several wider business segments.
As its operations continue to expand, Astra places human capital development at the center of its long-term sustainability efforts.
Through its People Roadmap, the company seeks to build a safe, inclusive, collaborative and sustainable workplace while providing employees with opportunities to strengthen their capabilities and leadership skills.
Astra's focus on business expansion and workforce development supports its aspiration to Prosper with the Nation and contributes to Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The company said its employees across Indonesia remain an important part of its ongoing efforts to support national development and create value for communities.
