Jakarta. The selection committee for the new commissioners of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) met with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Tuesday to present the final list of 10 candidates to be submitted to the House of Representatives.

A House commission will select five commissioners, subject to approval by a plenary session.

Several prominent figures unexpectedly failed to make the final list, including former KPK spokesman Johan Budi, who resigned as a lawmaker and executive of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) to participate in the selection, former Energy Minister Sudirman Said, and current KPK commissioner Nurul Ghufron.

“The president will forward the names to the House in the near future,” said Arief Satria, deputy chairman of the selection committee.
