Jakarta. Around 130,000 people are expected to visit Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) sports complex on Saturday as a Kanye West concert and several other major events take place simultaneously, raising concerns over traffic congestion and access to the venue.

Crowds are expected to build between 3 a.m. and midnight on Oct. 24, as the complex in Central Jakarta hosts the Ye Live in Jakarta concert, the Jakarta Running Festival 2026, a graduation ceremony for Universitas Nasional, BSI Expo, Agrinex Expo, and other activities.

The Bango Food Festival 2026, held at GBK’s City Forest, is also expected to draw visitors over the weekend, adding to the number of people in the area on Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors have been advised to check entrance gates and parking arrangements before traveling to the complex, as access schedules vary by event.

For Ye’s concert on Saturday, visitors can enter through Gates 2, 5, 6, 7 and 10 between noon and 10 p.m. Designated parking areas include the Tennis Center Court, Basket Hall, Indonesia Arena and Fields A, B, and C.

Participants in the Jakarta Running Festival can enter through Gates 5 and 6 between midnight and 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Guests attending Universitas Nasional’s graduation ceremony can use Gates 2 and 6 from 6 a.m. to noon, with parking available at Block 15 and the former Hotel Sultan area.

Visitors to BSI Expo and Agrinex Expo can also enter through Gate 2 between 6 a.m. and noon on Saturday, using the same parking areas.

On Sunday, access to the exhibitions will be available through Gates 2, 5, 6, 7 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking will be available at the South Parking Area, North East Parking Area, South East Parking Area and Elevated Parking A and B.

To reduce congestion, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation or park-and-ride facilities, leaving their vehicles near train stations or bus stops before continuing their journeys by MRT Jakarta, Transjakarta or commuter trains.

GBK management also provides free shuttle buses to help visitors move around the complex. Waiting times may vary depending on traffic conditions and crowd levels.

Visitors are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use the entrance designated for their event and follow instructions from officers on site to help keep traffic and pedestrian movement running smoothly throughout the weekend.
