Jakarta. Jakarta Governor candidate Pramono Anung urged Teguh Setyabudi to prioritize stability within the Jakarta Provincial Government following his appointment as Acting Governor of the capital.

"The most important thing is maintaining government stability without unrest. Hopefully, the Jakarta gubernatorial election will proceed in a joyful atmosphere," Pramono said, congratulating Teguh on his new role.

Jakarta has been without an elected governor since Anies Baswedan's term ended in October 2022. The next election is scheduled for November 2024, in accordance with a new law that mandates simultaneous elections for governors, mayors, and regents every five years. Teguh will serve as Acting Governor until the newly elected governor is inaugurated in December 2024.

"Congratulations to the new Acting Governor. Leading Jakarta requires experience," Pramono said after a public discussion with the Jakarta Youth Coalition (Kopaja) in East Jakarta.

Pramono expressed his best wishes for Teguh’s success in the role. "I hope for continued success, as we saw with Mr. Heru, who served for nearly 1.5 years, and now with Mr. Teguh," he said.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo officially dismissed Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of Jakarta.
