Sandra Dewi Ends Court Fight Over Assets Seized After Husband’s Graft Verdict
Jakarta. Indonesian actress and model Sandra Dewi on Tuesday withdrew her lawsuit challenging the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) over the seizure of assets linked to her husband Harvey Moeis’s corruption conviction, court officials said.
Harvey was earlier sentenced to 20 years in prison and ordered to pay Rp 420 billion ($25.7 million) in restitution to the state after being found guilty of illegally trading and mining tin from state-owned assets. To recover state losses, prosecutors confiscated multiple properties and valuables, including land, vehicles, jewelry, securities, and bank accounts.
Sandra and several relatives had filed objections, claiming that some of the seized items were her personal property, earned through her work and endorsements as a public figure, and unrelated to her husband’s case. She also cited a prenuptial agreement that legally separates their assets.
The contested assets included jewelry, two condominiums in Gading Serpong (Tangerang), houses in Pakubuwono and Permata Regency (Jakarta), blocked savings accounts, and luxury handbags.
However, Central Jakarta District Court Judge Rios Rahmanto confirmed that Sandra’s legal team had withdrawn the lawsuit, noting that Harvey’s conviction is now final following a Supreme Court ruling.
“The petitioners essentially stated that they respect and comply with the verdict, which has permanent legal force,” Judge Rios said.
AGO spokesperson Anang Supriatna welcomed the move, saying it clears the way for the state to proceed with asset recovery.
“With the lawsuit withdrawn, all the previously disputed evidence is now considered settled,” Anang said.
He added that prosecutors will move forward with plans to auction the confiscated assets as part of efforts to recover state losses.
