Yogyakarta. A 68-year-old man from Purworejo, Central Java, won the grand prize of a Daihatsu Ayla car at the BTV Semesta Berpesta festival held in Yogyakarta on Saturday.

Ali Subagyo attended the event to take part in a fun walk program, one of the highlights of the BTV Semesta Berpesta series, which combines sports activities, games, and a music concert that culminated at Kridosono Stadium later in the evening.

Ali appeared stunned and overjoyed when his raffle number was announced, seemingly unable to believe that his name had been selected among thousands of visitors crowding the stadium area.

He said his trip from Purworejo to Yogyakarta was driven by his enthusiasm for community fun walks and healthy lifestyle events. Ali learned about the BTV Semesta Berpesta festival through messages shared in a WhatsApp group with friends.

“I’m very happy. I often join fun walk events in different cities, but I never imagined I would win the grand prize this time,” Ali said after symbolically receiving the car keys.

He also expressed appreciation to the organizers and sponsors for bringing entertainment and excitement to the public.

The prize draw continued beyond the main award, with organizers distributing dozens of additional door prizes, including electric bicycles, fans, gas stoves, and blenders.

The Yogyakarta edition of BTV Semesta Berpesta once again highlighted the festival’s appeal as more than just a music concert, offering a community-centered event that attracts visitors from various regions and backgrounds.

Ali’s attendance at the event also reflected the festival’s growing reach beyond Yogyakarta residents, drawing participants from surrounding towns and cities across Central Java.

The Yogyakarta concert marked the second stop in BTV Semesta Berpesta’s eight-city tour this year. Last month, the festival was held in Denpasar, Bali.
