Nurani Astra Donates Ambulances, Medical Equipment to Flood-Hit Sumatra

Jakarta. Nurani Astra, associated with the conglomerate Astra, recently handed over 156 units of medical equipment and 20 ambulances to support post-disaster responses in the flood-hit Sumatra.

These assistance had been handed over to the Health Ministry.

"Through Nurani Astra, we strive to be present and contribute to helping communities facing post-disaster recovery. The distribution of ambulances and medical equipment is expected to strengthen health services in affected areas, so that people can access medical assistance more quickly and efficiently," Astra's Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto said at the handover ceremony.

The 20 ambulance units would be used by the community health centers or Puskesmas. Sixteen units would go to the health centers in Aceh, and another one to a local regional hospital. Astra will also distribute the remaining units to Central Tapanuli, Medan, and Padang Pariaman.

Since December 2025, Astra has inspected and repaired 126 ambulances across various affected areas, including four in Aceh, 17 in North Sumatra, and 10 in West Sumatra, as part of its efforts to ensure the readiness of healthcare services for the community.

Astra, through Astra Otoparts, has distributed 156 units of medical equipment to support improved healthcare services in the affected areas. This assistance consists of 122 units of medical equipment distributed to eight regional hospitals in Aceh and 34 units of medical equipment handed over to the Medan Health Facilities and Equipment Security Center.

Astra's commitment to supporting the strengthening of public healthcare services in various regions across Indonesia aligns with Astra's vision to prosper together with the nation. The initiatives also aim to support Indonesia's sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The handover ceremony was also attended by Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Astra Director Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim, Home Affairs Minister Toto Karnavian.
