Jakarta. There’s no party without dancing, and this year, the massive multi-city music festival Semesta Berpesta, hosted by entertainment channel BTV, incorporated the lively fitness dance Zumba as a highlight of its program.

At the final concert of the 2024 series in Jakarta on Sunday, BTV Semesta Berpesta earned a prestigious accolade from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) for achieving the largest gathering of Zumba instructors in a single event.

The energetic cardio dance featured 51 instructors and drew around 3,500 participants to Senayan Square in Central Jakarta.

"The Zumba event, with thousands of participants led by 51 instructors at the same time and place, is a new milestone in MURI's records," said Awan Rahargo, MURI’s marketing director.

The award was presented to Apreyvita Wulansari, deputy CEO of B-Universe Media Holdings, the parent company of BTV.

"We are honored to receive this award and hope to set another MURI record next year," Apreyvita said.

BTV Semesta Berpesta has traveled to 12 cities since the opening concert in early June. The final weekend’s event in Senayan, spanning Saturday and Sunday, featured performances by over 10 local bands.

Jakarta-based Maliq & D'Essentials closed out the 2024 edition of the festival as the last band to take the stage.

"We are proud to be the final act of the 2024 BTV Semesta Berpesta and hope this music festival continues for years to come, so we can reunite with fans again," lead vocalist Angga said on stage. "We thank BTV for the opportunity to perform at such a grand event."
