BPJS Kesehatan Boss Picked as Co-Convener for Joint Learning Network Steering Group
Jakarta. Ghufron Mukti, the president director of the national health insurance scheme BPJS Kesehatan, officially becomes a co-convener to the steering group at the Joint Learning Network (JLN) that seeks to promote universal health coverage.
According to a press release, Ghufron was picked because of his leadership at BPJS Kesehatan in the implementation of the national health security program --locally known as the Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) -- over the years.
The JLN gathers practitioners and policymakers and becomes a platform where they can exchange knowledge to achieve universal health coverage. The community comprises ministries, financing firms, and other government bodies across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and even the Middle East.
“It is such an honor for me to be selected as the co-convener for JLN’s steering group. I’m committed to working with other stakeholders across the globe to share knowledge and experiences in managing the healthcare system,” Ghufron was quoted as saying in the statement.
Ghufron said he hoped Indonesia’s JKN program could set an example to other countries in developing a health security system that is of quality and sustainable.
