Jakarta. As the organizer of Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) Program, BPJS Kesehatan reinforces the essential role of healthcare facilities, both public and private, in ensuring that participants receive easy, fast, and equitable medical services. Strong collaboration with partner hospitals across the country remains a key foundation for sustaining JKN’s long-term success.

BPJS Kesehatan Public Relations Chief Rizzky Anugerah emphasized that the JKN Program would not have reached its current achievements without the commitment of its partner hospitals. Hospitals serve as the primary front line in the delivery of JKN services.

“Every positive experience felt by JKN participants is the result of the dedication of healthcare professionals and hospital management, who continuously innovate to deliver the best possible care. As of November 1, 2025, BPJS Kesehatan partners with 1,086 public hospitals and 2,084 private hospitals nationwide,” Rizzky said.

The collaboration between BPJS Kesehatan and hospitals has also led to numerous service innovations. With JKN enrollment reaching 282.92 million people -- more than 98 percent of Indonesia’s population -- hospitals now implement the use of the National ID Number (NIK) as a unified identity for service access, along with integrated online queuing systems.

“BPJS Kesehatan also provides the Healthcare Facility Information Portal (PIF), a dashboard that offers comprehensive, real-time insights for each facility on their JKN service management. Hospitals can monitor claim submissions, capitation and non-capitation payments, service utilization data, commitment metrics, and quality indicators, including overviews of participant feedback,” Rizzky explained.

Partner hospitals remain committed to elevating service quality and improving participant satisfaction. Many are expanding their medical workforce and upgrading infrastructure to better meet local needs. According to Rizzky, BPJS Kesehatan fully supports these efforts as part of strengthening JKN service stability nationwide.

To ensure service readiness and quality, BPJS Kesehatan consistently carries out credentialing and re-credentialing of all partner hospitals. Credentialing is conducted prior to cooperation to verify that hospitals have the required competencies, human resources, facilities, and clinical governance standards.

“Re-credentialing is carried out regularly as a comprehensive evaluation to ensure service quality remains robust and responsive to participants’ evolving needs. These mechanisms are not only a form of oversight but also a platform for dialogue between BPJS Kesehatan and hospitals to strengthen service quality and enhance operational effectiveness,” Rizzky added.

Separately, Mayapada Hospital Tangerang Director, Nurhidayati Endah Puspita Sari, known as Ita, reaffirmed that non-discriminatory service is a core value upheld by all healthcare workers at her hospital. She stressed that all patients, whether JKN participants or self-paying, receive equal attention and care.

“We provide the same level of service to both JKN and private-pay patients. Everyone is treated equally, especially in emergency situations. All services are delivered according to the applicable standards,” Ita said.

She noted that BPJS Kesehatan and Mayapada Hospital Tangerang have maintained a harmonious partnership, including smooth administrative processes and claim management. Efficient claims, she added, are crucial for sustaining hospital operations.

“Claim submissions with BPJS Kesehatan have been running well. Coordination is clear, and whenever clarifications are needed, communication remains open. This supports more optimal service operations,” she explained.

Ita also acknowledged that partnering with BPJS Kesehatan has encouraged the hospital to continue expanding and improving its services. Through this collaboration, the hospital has added new facilities, strengthened its service capacity, and enhanced staff competencies.

“With over 80 percent of our patients coming from JKN, we are continuously improving to meet their needs. The JKN Program has become a real lifeline for patients with chronic illnesses who require ongoing and often costly treatment,” she said.

Ita added that the collaboration between BPJS Kesehatan and Mayapada Hospital Tangerang has broadened healthcare access for the community. She noted the significant impact of JKN and expressed hope that the JKN ecosystem will continue to grow and reach even more people.
