BNI Saves 559,194 Gigajoules Energy in 2025
Jakarta. State-owned bank BNI reported that it had saved 559,194 gigajoules (GJ) throughout 2025.
The bank managed to reach these numbers by reducing its electricity consumption as it sought low-emission operations while increasing energy efficiency.
"This reduction in energy consumption reflects BNI's consistency in implementing various energy efficiency programs while supporting sustainable carbon emission reduction efforts," BNI Deputy President Director Alexandra Askandar was quoted as saying in a press statement.
The achievement also aligns with the strengthening implementation of the green building concept within BNI.
Several of the company's operational buildings have even received certification from independent institutions.
The BNI Tower in Pejompongan received a green building gold certification, while the BNI Plaza building in BSD clinched the green building platinum certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia.
The BNI Building in the PIK 2 area also received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in the Building Construction category.
This shows how BNI's efforts have gained both national and international recognition.
"BNI will continue to strengthen the implementation of sustainability principles across all business lines and operations as part of the company's long-term commitment," Alexandra said.
Going forward, BNI is committed to further strengthening sustainability practices, not only through energy efficiency but also through the development of a sustainable financial ecosystem that creates added value for the environment and society.
