Jakarta.  Chandra Asri Group — a leading energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions provider — planted hundreds of mangrove trees as part of its participation in the 2025 Jakarta Running Festival (JRF).

The company served as the official sustainability and circular economy partner of the 2025 JRF, which took place last month. A total of 33 Chandra Asri Group employees joined the running event, covering a combined distance of 516 kilometers — equivalent to the planting of 516 mangrove trees and an estimated annual reduction of 1,400 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent.

The company has started planting mangroves at the Lembur Mangrove Patikang area in Pandeglang, Banten. This tourist village has partnered with Chandra Asri Group to enhance carbon absorption and support coastal forest restoration. The initiative also aims to empower local communities.

“Chandra Asri Group’s participation at JRF over the past three years reflects how the company consistently pushes for real action. This year, we recorded measurable impact — from the collection and management of segregated waste to the planting of mangroves as our contribution to carbon sequestration and coastal restoration,” said Chrysanthi Tarigan, Head of Corporate Communications at Chandra Asri Group.

“We hope this action also reflects Chandra Asri Group’s commitment as a #YourGrowthPartner, working together to deliver direct benefits to the community and the environment,” Chrysanthi added.
