Jakarta. Chandra Daya Investasi (CDI Group), through its subsidiary Chandra Shipping International (CSI), on Tuesday held the inaugural arrival ceremony for its liquid chemical logistics vessel Novah at the port terminal operated by Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPN).

The event marked CDI Group’s latest move to strengthen connectivity across its integrated infrastructure ecosystem by combining port services and maritime logistics to support industrial supply chains in Indonesia and the wider region.

Novah is a 9,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) liquid chemical logistics vessel designed to support more flexible and efficient interregional distribution. The vessel is expected to serve both domestic and international strategic routes, strengthening distribution connectivity for industrial and trade activities.

“The addition of Novah would improve the efficiency and reliability of industrial product distribution while expanding the group’s logistics capabilities to serve domestic and regional demand” CDI group said in a statement.

Going forward, the vessel also has the potential to support the distribution of other chemical products as demand for industrial trade and logistics connectivity in Southeast Asia continues to grow. The company expects the new fleet to enhance logistics flexibility and strengthen the reliability of integrated chemical supply chains.

The name Novah reflects CDI Group’s vision for growth and stronger logistics connectivity.

“Derived from the word ‘Nova,’ meaning a brightly shining star, the name symbolizes what the company describes as ‘a bright new beginning’ and its ambition to provide more modern, adaptive, and competitive logistics services,” CDI Group added.

In developing the vessel, CDI Group partnered with Usuki Shipyard, a Japanese shipbuilder known for its modern technology and high-quality standards in liquid chemical logistics vessels. The collaboration was aimed at ensuring high operational and safety standards while supporting the increasingly integrated needs of industrial distribution.

CDI Group said the launch of Novah forms part of its broader commitment to providing integrated infrastructure and logistics solutions to support industrial growth in Indonesia and the region.
