Nagoya. Indonesia’s Rahmat Erwin Abdullah won the men’s 75-kilogram weightlifting gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games on Saturday, securing the country’s second gold of the Games with a combined lift of 366 kilograms.

Rahmat edged Thailand’s Weeraphon Wichuma by just 1 kilogram in a closely contested competition at the Nagoya City Trade and Industry Center.

Ri took the lead after the first discipline with a 162-kilogram snatch.

The competition tightened in the clean and jerk, with Rahmat successfully lifting 201 kilograms on his first attempt. He then cleared 206 kilograms on his second attempt to bring his combined total to 366 kilograms.

Weeraphon finished with 365 kilograms after lifting 160 kilograms in the snatch and 205 kilograms in the clean and jerk, earning the silver medal.

Ri took bronze with a total of 357 kilograms, combining a 162-kilogram snatch with a 195-kilogram clean and jerk.

Rahmat’s victory gives Indonesia its second gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The country’s first gold came from the men’s badminton team event.

Rahmat also set world records in the 75-kilogram category with his 366-kilogram combined total and 206-kilogram clean and jerk, according to Indonesian reports.

Indonesia has also won a bronze in weightlifting at the Games, with Luluk Diana Tri Wijayana finishing third in the women’s 49-kilogram category.
