Jakarta. An Indonesian Air Force Super Hercules C-130 aircraft conducted an airdrop of humanitarian aid in Gaza, Palestine, on Tuesday in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian Air Force following talks between Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II.

The mission dropped 20 packages of food, mineral water, and medicine, each weighing 100 kilograms, according to a statement from the Defense Ministry.

The aircraft departed from the King Abdullah II Airbase in Zarqa at 11:36 a.m. and dropped supplies from a low altitude in southern Gaza about an hour later.

The mission was led by Air Force officer Colonel Noto Casnoto.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo revealed last month that Indonesia is one of the countries allowed to drop humanitarian supplies inside Gaza and pledged to join air drops of international aid.

Prabowo followed up the instruction with a phone call to the King of Jordan to ask permission to use the country’s airspace to deliver the supplies.

The defense minister then received a visit from Jordan Ambassador Sudqi Al Omoush at his office in Jakarta to further discuss details of the humanitarian mission on March 21.

"Indonesia recognizes the eternal friendship with Jordan under the mutual commitment to promoting world peace, especially in the Middle East, and enhancing bilateral cooperation for mutual prosperity," Prabowo said at that time.

The Indonesian aircraft carrying humanitarian supplies departed for Jordan on March 29.
