Jakarta. Chief Downstream Industry and Energy Transition Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said Wednesday that the government is still finalizing which ministries will fall under his coordination, as President Prabowo Subianto moves to build a new structure to accelerate downstreaming and industrialization.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) and the Downstream and Energy Transition Ministry are already confirmed to be under the new coordinating ministry, Bahlil said at the Investor Daily Summit 2026 in Jakarta.

“Since my appointment, we have been consolidating. We have not yet finalized 100% which ministries will be under us. But I can give you a little hint: the ESDM and the Downstream and Energy Transition Ministry are definitely under our coordination,” he said.

Bahlil delivered the remarks in his first keynote speech in his new role, saying one or two additional ministries could also be brought under the Downstream and Energy Transition Ministry. The Industry Ministry is among those being considered.

“There is a possibility that one or two more ministries related to value-added processing will be included. When we talk about value-added processing, we are also talking about industrialization. The instrument for creating value is industry, so it could be the Industry Ministry,” Bahlil said.

The government is continuing its internal consolidation to determine the division of responsibilities among the ministries. The new coordination structure is expected to align policies across the energy, mining and industrial sectors and strengthen efforts to create more value from Indonesian commodities.

President Prabowo established the Downstream and Energy Transition Ministry  as part of his administration’s push to accelerate economic transformation through greater domestic processing and industrialization.
