Jakarta. A community group distributed free printed books and e-books about President Prabowo Subianto's political ideas and development agenda to residents attending Jakarta's car-free day near the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle on Sunday, ahead of the second anniversary of his presidency.

The initiative was organized by Komunitas Melek Politik (Political Literacy Community), which said it aimed to promote political awareness while gathering public feedback on government programs introduced during Prabowo's first two years in office.

The group distributed two books: Presiden Solusi: Problem Solving ala Prabowo Subianto (The Problem-Solving President), written by Muhammad Qodari, Dirgayuza Setiawan and Agung Gumilar Saputra, and Strategi Transformasi Bangsa Menuju Indonesia Emas (National Transformation Strategy Toward a Golden Indonesia), authored by the president himself.

The organizers said the books were intended to introduce readers to the president's views on national development and the policies his administration is pursuing.

Agustini, a member of the community, said the event was also designed to assess public perceptions of government initiatives as Prabowo approaches his second anniversary in office.

"Our activity today is about understanding how people respond to the programs President Prabowo Subianto has implemented over the past two years," Agustini said.

"We also want to help people understand his broader ideas, which are presented in these two books."

According to Agustini, the development priorities outlined in the publications include meeting basic needs, expanding downstream industries, advancing technology and strengthening national self-reliance.

She cited several government initiatives associated with those priorities, including the free nutritious meals program, People's Schools, Red and White Village Cooperatives, food self-sufficiency efforts, renewable energy development, the B50 biodiesel initiative and industrial downstreaming.

Agustini said the group wanted to hear directly from residents about whether the programs had delivered tangible benefits and what improvements might be needed.

"We want to gather people's aspirations, especially during car-free day, when so many residents come together. We want to understand the real impact of government programs and whether they need evaluation or improvement," she said.

The feedback will be compiled into a policy brief containing recommendations to be submitted to Prabowo, she added.

One recipient, Jakarta resident Nataliande, expressed support for the president despite the criticism he has faced during his first two years in office.

"I hope the president stays healthy and continues fighting for Indonesia. Despite the insults and bullying, I hope he keeps working for the country until the end of his presidency," Nataliande said.

Nataliande also expressed hope that the two books would help readers better understand Indonesia's challenges and the solutions proposed by the president.

Sunday's distribution at the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle was the second event in the community's outreach campaign. A similar activity was held the previous day in the Barito area of South Jakarta.

Prabowo, who took office on Oct. 20, 2024, will mark the second anniversary of his presidency on Tuesday.
