Jakarta. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has been linked to a reported cabinet reshuffle under President Prabowo Subianto, with speculation that he could take on an additional role as coordinating minister for downstreaming and energy.

Bahlil did not deny the reports when asked about them at the State Palace on Thursday.

“We’ll see. I haven’t been inaugurated yet, so I can’t give any statement,” Bahlil told reporters.

Bahlil is among several government officials whose positions have been linked to possible changes in what would be the seventh cabinet reshuffle under Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka since they took office in October 2024.

The previous reshuffle, on Sept. 14, saw Prabowo replace Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa with his deputy, Suahasil Nazara. Purbaya had served as finance minister for about a year after being appointed in September 2025. Suahasil, who had served as deputy finance minister since 2019, was sworn in as his replacement.

Foreign Minister Sugiono and his deputy, Arrmanatha Nasir, were also reportedly heading to the State Palace on Thursday afternoon. Sugiono has been linked to the position of coordinating minister for human development and cultural affairs, while Arrmanatha is reportedly being considered to replace him as foreign minister.

The reported changes come as Prabowo prepares to inaugurate Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto as the new National Police chief, replacing General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The House of Representatives approved Suyudi’s appointment after its Commission III unanimously endorsed his nomination. Prabowo is scheduled to formally appoint him at the State Palace later Thursday.

House Speaker Puan Maharani said the appointment was being expedited to prevent a vacancy at the top of the National Police.

Suyudi’s appointment is separate from the reported cabinet changes but has coincided with speculation over a broader reshuffle of senior government positions.
