Jakarta. State-owned energy company Pertamina has raised prices for its premium diesel fuels and RON 98 Pertamax Turbo gasoline, effective Sept. 1, while keeping prices unchanged for its other gasoline products and government-subsidized fuels.

Pertamax Turbo rose to Rp 19,600 ($1.10) per liter from Rp 18,300, an increase of 7.1%.

The steepest increase was recorded for Dexlite, which jumped to Rp 23,700 per liter from Rp 18,300, an increase of Rp 5,400 or 29.5%.

Pertamina Dex, the company’s higher-grade diesel product, increased to Rp 25,200 per liter from Rp 21,150, up Rp 4,050 or 19.1%.

Prices for other nonsubsidized gasoline products remained unchanged. RON 92 Pertamax continues to sell for Rp 15,950 per liter, while RON 95 Pertamax Green remains at Rp 16,600.

Government-subsidized fuels were also unaffected by the latest adjustment. Pertalite gasoline remains priced at Rp 10,000 per liter, while Biosolar diesel stays at Rp 6,800.

“The price adjustment applies to several nonsubsidized fuel products, namely Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite, while other nonsubsidized fuels such as Pertamax 92 and Pertamax Green 95 remain unchanged,” Pertamina Patra Niaga spokeswoman Kitty Andhora said in a statement on Monday.

“The decision was made by taking into account economic considerations, purchasing power, and prevailing social conditions,” she added.

Kitty said the new prices were calculated using the government-mandated pricing formula, taking into account several factors, including global crude oil prices, the rupiah exchange rate, taxes, and consumers’ purchasing power.
