Jakarta. The 42-year-old Sutriah Windriyani is one of the many beneficiaries to the national health insurance scheme: Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN).

Sutriah recently recalled her experience using the insurance scheme, which is run by the insurance firm BPJS Kesehatan, to cover her family's medical treatment. The mother of two had come to BPJS Kesehatan's office in Kebumen not long ago. Sutriah, at the time, was trying to log onto the JKN Mobile application. She had forgotten her login credentials.

"But the BPJS Kesehatan staff quickly helped me with it. They were also kind. Now I can use JKN Mobile again. This app has really made my life easier," Sutriah said.

According to Sutriah, the app has offered countless benefits. Participants don't have to travel to the BPJS Kesehatan office to make requests. The app lets her register new participants, change health facilities, check contribution status, and even queue online when seeking treatment at a health facility.

She recalled how her second child once had to be treated for dengue fever. And the JKN program had covered the medical expenses.

"My child had a fever of 39 degrees Celsius, and had to be hospitalized for about 10 days because of the huge drop in hemoglobin. Praise be to God, BPJS Kesehatan covered everything. We didn't have to pay a penny. The service was fast and excellent," Sutriah said.

She had also used JKN for her acute stomach ulcer treatment.

"I was hospitalized twice for this illness. The entire process was easy, from registration to the service at the hospital. The doctors were friendly, and there was no difference between JKN patients and general patients," she said.

Her parents are also JKN participants. The scheme has also covered the treatment for their skin condition.

"Our whole family has truly felt the benefits. From children to parents, everyone has been helped by JKN," she said.

Sutriah is now encouraging the people around her to sign up to JKN. This includes her co-workers at the local factory where she works at.

"I told my colleagues at the factory that they should use JKN Mobile on top of a JKN card. The app lets us check our check contributions, change health facilities, and even queue without any hassle. Everything is convenient," she said.

"Now there's no reason not to participate in JKN. The premiums are affordable and the benefits are enormous. It would be a real shame if there are still people who haven't joined. Thank you, BPJS Kesehatan, for providing us with the best service. With JKN, we feel at ease knowing that if we get sick, we have someone to cover us," she stated.
