Pupuk Indonesia Urges Distribution Sites to Follow Rules in Fertilizer Rollout
Bangkalan. Pupuk Indonesia has urged distribution sites in Bangkalan to ensure an accountable distribution of subsidized fertilizers.
The distribution has seen some regulatory changes since earlier this month.
The state fertilizer maker's account executive Yoppy Sandi Julian urged the distribution sites to make sure that everything is transparent to prevent issues.
Under the new mechanism, group-based redemption of subsidized fertilizer is limited to a maximum of 20 national identity numbers, down from the previous limit of 30.
The ID cards of the farmers being represented must be original documents.
They must be of the same farming group and are still alive. The represented farmers' ID card must be accompanied by original documents. Any representing letter must be known by the agricultural extension worker.
In cases the farmers are deceased, their heirs may receive the subsidized fertilizers for a year. The latter must sign up for the subsidy program the following year.
Farmers may also get the fertilizers in a single transaction, depending on the needs for a single plantation season.
"We hope everyone understand the regulations," Yoppy said.
Distribution sites are banned from misreporting the distribution and supplies. They are also not allowed to sell the subsidized fertilizer above the allowable price threshold. They must also not fabricate the documents.
Violations of these rules may result in sanctions under applicable laws and regulations, ranging from the revocation of the distribution site's business license, blacklisting, and the obligation to reimburse state losses, to criminal penalties.
Bangkalan's acting agricultural chief C Henry Kusumas Karyadinata said that local farmers would get 18,807 tons of subsidized urea fertilizers, some 14,206 tons of NPK fertilizers, and 474 tons of organic fertilizers. As of August 2026, they have distributed 9,328 tons of urea fertilizers or half of the allocation. The NPK distribution has reached 9,297 tons or 65%. Local farmers have bought 106 tons of subsidized organic fertilizers or about 22% of the target.
