Pupuk Indonesia Encourages Subsidized Fertilizer Distribution Ahead of Planting Season in Takalar
TaKalar, South Sulawesi. PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is strengthening coordination with local stakeholders to optimize the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Takalar, South Sulawesi, ahead of the October 2026–March 2027 planting season.
The initiative aims to ensure farmers receive fertilizer according to their allocations while supporting agricultural productivity in the region.
“Pupuk Indonesia is committed to ensuring that subsidized fertilizer is available and distributed to farmers based on the seven principles of accuracy, covering the right type, quantity, price, timing, location, quality and recipients,” Tri Wahyudi Saleh, the company’s director of asset management, said during a farmer consultation and joint fertilizer redemption event on Thursday.
Tri emphasized the importance of collaboration among local governments, agricultural extension officers, regional-owned enterprises (PUDs) and authorized fertilizer retailers (PPTS) to ensure smooth distribution.
He said effective communication among stakeholders would help identify farmers’ needs and address distribution challenges early.
"We continue to encourage the entire fertilizer distribution ecosystem to operate optimally, not only by ensuring availability but also by making sure distribution complies with regulations and reaches eligible farmers,” Tri said.
Meanwhile, Pupuk Indonesia Regional CEO 4 Wisnu Ramadhani said the upcoming planting season presented an opportunity to strengthen coordination across the agricultural supply chain.
He highlighted the role of local governments, extension officers, PUDs, authorized retailers and farmers in preparing fertilizer supplies and addressing challenges in the field.
“We hope existing coordination can continue to improve so that various needs and challenges can be communicated and addressed promptly,” Wisnu said.
