Prabowo Praises Jokowi in Recent Campaign
Jakarta. Presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto recently praised President Joko “Jokowi” in a recent campaign in Serang.
Prabowo was attending a gathering of ulemas. In his speech, Prabowo reminisced about when he had to face Jokowi in the previous election.
“I was Mr. Jokowi’s rival. But Jokowi never hurt his rival when he won. He did not want to [hurt his rival]. He [Jokowi] was embracing what our ancestors had taught us: to win without hurting others. Win, ask everyone to unite, that is what I am aiming for,” Prabowo told the crowd.
“I also wish to win without hurting others. I want to win for the Indonesian people. I want to win so I can contribute to this country and nation,” he said.
Prabowo said he would help make Indonesia an advanced and prosperous economy should he win the upcoming election. To this end, he has prepared his flagship free, nutritious school meals and milk for Indonesian children.
According to Prabowo, Indonesia holds abundant natural resources. “We will manage all our resources so its benefits can be enjoyed by everyone in this country,” Prabowo said.
To cut oil imports, Prabowo seeks to produce palm oil-based biodiesel, which he said would be environmentally friendly. Indonesia seeks to produce 47 million tons of palm oil each year. Prabowo also told the crowd Indonesia would be able to produce its very own cars.
He added: “We are already making jeeps. It’s called Maung.”
