Tangerang. Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), the gas subholding of Pertamina, has ensured that natural gas distribution to household and small business customers in Tangerang remains secure and reliable following the Ramadan and Idul Fitri (RAFI) 2026 period.

To maintain optimal service, the downstream oil and gas regulatory agency (BPH Migas), together with PGN Sales and Operation Region II (SOR II), conducted a field inspection to assess the readiness of gas supply and distribution.

PGN’s gas network service in Tangerang currently reaches 62,858 household customers and 126 small businesses, underscoring its strategic role in providing natural gas energy to support daily household needs and small-scale economic activities in the area.

During the visit, BPH Migas and PGN also engaged directly with city gas (jargas) customers to observe firsthand how natural gas is utilized in daily activities. One household customer in Tangerang, Wibowo, said the use of PGN’s gas network has made everyday cooking more convenient.

“Since using PGN gas, we feel it is more practical, and we no longer have to worry about running out of gas, especially during important moments such as Ramadan and Eid,” he said.

Josep, an official overseeing downstream oil and gas business activities at BPH Migas, stated that the monitoring of jargas is part of regulatory oversight to ensure energy distribution complies with regulations while prioritizing public interest.

“We want to ensure that natural gas distribution, particularly for household and small customers, runs smoothly and reaches the intended targets, especially after a high-consumption period such as Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Overall, the inspection results in Tangerang show conditions are good and under control,” he said.

PGN Sales and Operation Region II General Manager Iwan Yuli Widyastanto said the company remains committed to maintaining reliable gas services, particularly in the post-RAFI period. He added that PGN is placing extra attention on infrastructure reliability to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour gas distribution for customers.

“We continue to carry out monitoring and service enhancements to ensure that the community’s energy needs are met properly. This is done optimally to support the productivity of households and small customers, including MSMEs,” he said.

Beyond ensuring service reliability, the activity also reflects synergy between the regulator and operator in maintaining the quality of energy services for the public.

PGN continues to uphold a customer-first service principle by ensuring responsive service and optimal operational support across all its operating areas. Through this monitoring effort, natural gas distribution in Tangerang is expected to remain smooth and deliver sustainable benefits to the community.
