Jakarta. Indofood Sukses Makmur (IDX: INDF), the Salim Group-controlled food producer, reported a 9% increase in first-half net sales, although a weaker rupiah and higher unrealized foreign-exchange losses dragged down attributable net profit.

Net sales rose to Rp65.53 trillion ($3.63 billion) in the six months through June from Rp59.84 trillion a year earlier, according to the company’s financial report.

Operating profit increased 14% to Rp13.29 trillion from Rp11.69 trillion, with the operating margin reaching about 20.3%.

Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company, however, fell 19% to Rp4.72 trillion from Rp5.84 trillion. Indofood attributed the decline primarily to higher unrealized foreign-exchange losses from financing activities as the rupiah weakened by more than 7% in the first half of 2026, reaching an all-time low of Rp18,000 per dollar in June.

“Amid continued global uncertainty, Indofood delivered solid performance in the first half of 2026,” President Director and Chief Executive Officer Anthoni Salim said in a statement.

The company will remain focused on sustainable growth while balancing market share and profitability and maintaining a healthy balance sheet, Salim said.

ICBP Sales Increase 11%

Indofood’s consumer-branded products subsidiary, Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur (ICBP), reported an 11% increase in first-half net sales to Rp41.86 trillion from Rp37.60 trillion a year earlier.

Salim, who also serves as ICBP’s president director and CEO, said the company delivered positive results despite increasingly dynamic market conditions.

“We remain vigilant amid continued uncertainty. We will continue to align production with market demand and manage costs effectively and efficiently to maintain profitability and cash flow,” he said.

Operating profit rose 8% to Rp9.15 trillion from Rp8.48 trillion, while its operating margin remained healthy at about 21.9%.

Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company fell 33% to Rp3.70 trillion from Rp5.54 trillion a year earlier, also primarily due to higher unrealized foreign-exchange losses from financing activities amid the rupiah’s depreciation.

Core profit, which strips out certain non-operating effects and is intended to reflect underlying operating performance, rose 1% to Rp5.40 trillion from Rp5.37 trillion.
