PGN Provides Natural Gas to Avalokitesvara Temple
Jakarta. Energy firm Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) has been providing natural gas for the Avalokitesvara temple for the past yfew ears.
The energy supply had already been in place since 2015 and had shown that PGN's services were not limited to households and businesses. With an average monthly usage of 150–200 m³, natural gas supports the kitchen operations of the Avalokitesvara Temple.
"We usually use it to cook three meals a day for the masters and staff. During prayer or service days, the number can reach 300–350 portions," said Wiwit, one of the Avalokitesvara Temple's cooks.
The 24-hour availability of natural gas ensures a stable flame for daily cooking and religious activities. PGN maintains a reliable supply to ensure all operational needs run smoothly.
"The presence of natural gas at the Avalokitesvara Temple demonstrates our support for the community's devotion to worship. We hope that natural gas can help the temple management manage energy more efficiently and optimally, so that all rituals and social and religious activities can run smoothly," said Mohammad Makki Nuruddin, Area Head of PGN Jakarta.
Makki went on to say that the natural gas service at the temple demonstrates PGN's commitment to providing energy access regardless of customer background. PGN's primary focus is to provide easy access to energy for all levels of society.
Makki hopes that the natural gas service at the place of worship will contribute to fostering a spirit of tolerance and harmony in the surrounding environment.
"We prioritize quality service with a high level of safety, thus providing peace of mind during worship. As a cleaner energy source, natural gas is expected to align with the temple's philosophical values, which uphold harmony with nature," Makki said.
