Jokowi to Open Indonesia’s Largest Investment Forum Tomorrow
Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is scheduled to open Indonesia’s largest investor forum --the 2024 BNI Investor Daily Summit-- at the Jakarta Convention Center on Tuesday morning.
This marks the third time for Jokowi to launch the investment conference with the first one taking place in 2022. This year, BNI Investor Daily Summit will adopt the theme of “Accelerating Resilient Growth”. The event will have panelist sessions with dozens of speakers coming both from the government and private sector.
The two-day event will give its audience insights to Indonesia’s economic and investment trends. Indonesia aims to attract Rp 1,650 trillion (around $101 billion) throughout this year. Over the past years, Jokowi’s economic policies center on resource nationalism as the outgoing leader wants Indonesia to capture more value out of its abundant minerals.
The summit is also quite timely as it is only about two weeks away before Jokowi steps down. His successor Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to wrap up the 2024 BNI Investor Daily Summit on Wednesday. The audience are set to get insights to Prabowo’s upcoming economic policies as his inauguration nears.
