Chandra Asri Wins Gold at 2025 Indonesia Responsible Care Awards
Jakarta. Chandra Asri Group recently won a gold award at the 2025 Indonesia Responsible Care Awards (IRCA) for its chemical plant in Banten.
Chandra Asri Group is a leading provider of energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions in Southeast Asia. The freshly earned award recognizes the company’s commitment to embracing a responsible care towards the occupational health and safety standards. The company recently recorded over 20 million working hours without a lost-time accident (LTA). For context, the LTA refers to workplace incidents that injure employees, thus causing them to miss work.
The awarding ceremony took place at the 18th Asia-Pacific Responsible Care Conference in Bali on Oct. 22-23. As the awardee, Chandra Asri also underwent verification and an independent evaluation to determine whether it had met Responsible Care’s seven pillars, including process safety, employee health and safety, distribution, security, pollution prevention, community awareness and emergency preparedness (CAER), and product stewardship.
The gold award at the 2025 IRCA also reflects Chandra Asri Group’s commitment to the Responsible Care principles. It also highlights how the chemical industry prioritizes the responsibility for safety, health, security, and sustainability throughout the chemical lifecycle.
"Chandra Asri Group has integrated the Responsible Care initiative into the company's occupational health and safety, environment, and security Policy. We have also instilled a culture of operational excellence that encourages every individual to be proactive in identifying and controlling risks in every activity. As a result, we have successfully recorded more than 20 million work hours without an LTA,” Ronald Sihombing, Manufacturing Director of Chandra Asri Group, said.
“This achievement serves as a significant impetus to continue strengthening our culture of safety and sustainability across all our business lines," Ronald said.
The achievement also reinforces the company’s role as #YourGrowthPartner as it seeks to become an integrated solution in Southeast Asia.
