Jakarta. Chandra Asri Pacific (Chandra Asri Group) and Bakti Barito Foundation (Yayasan Bakti Barito) have donated 100 health service tents to the Health Ministry through its Health Crisis Center to support the government's disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts.

The donation comprises 50 tents measuring 4 x 6 meters and another 50 measuring 4 x 8 meters. The tents are expected to serve as supporting facilities for health services based on field requirements, including providing additional space for medical services during emergencies.

Sumarjaya, director of health surveillance and quarantine at the Health Ministry, expressed appreciation for the contribution, saying that adequate supporting facilities are essential to strengthening healthcare preparedness in disaster situations.

“Indonesia is a disaster-prone country, so preparedness must continue to be strengthened through various efforts, including ensuring the availability of adequate supporting facilities. In emergency situations, facilities such as health service tents are needed to help meet healthcare needs in the field,” Sumarjaya said.

“We appreciate Chandra Asri Group and Bakti Barito Foundation for donating these 100 health service tents. We hope the assistance can be used according to needs and help strengthen healthcare preparedness in responding to disasters,” he added.

Collaboration between the government and the private sector plays an important role in strengthening disaster preparedness and response capacity in Indonesia. The availability of supporting facilities that can be deployed according to field requirements is expected to help healthcare workers reach affected communities, particularly in areas with limited access to or availability of healthcare facilities.

Edi Rivai, director of legal, external affairs and circular economy at Chandra Asri Group, said the contribution reflected the importance of collaboration among the government, businesses and other stakeholders in disaster preparedness.

“Disaster preparedness requires strong collaboration between the government, businesses and various stakeholders. Together with Bakti Barito Foundation, Chandra Asri Group supports the Health Ministry's efforts to strengthen healthcare preparedness in emergencies. We hope this assistance can be used optimally according to field requirements and deliver tangible benefits to the community,” Edi said.

Chandra Asri Group and Bakti Barito Foundation hope the collaboration with the Health Ministry will help strengthen emergency healthcare preparedness and foster greater synergy between the government and the private sector in disaster response.

The initiative forms part of their joint contribution to protecting and improving the welfare of communities across Indonesia.
