Environment Minister Visits Chandra Asri's Booth to Explore Plastic Waste Management Solutions at Invirotech 2026
Jakarta. Environment Minister Moh. Jumhur Hidayat visited Chandra Asri Group's booth at Invirotech 2026 to review the company's waste management and circular economy solutions.
During the visit, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Director Suryandi presented several circular economy initiatives developed by the company in collaboration with its strategic partners. Among them was CIRCLO, a shredded plastic product designed for asphalt mixtures as part of the implementation of sustainable infrastructure.
The initiative has been implemented across 135 kilometers of roads and has utilized more than 155 million low-value plastic bags, demonstrating the potential of plastic waste to be repurposed into infrastructure materials while supporting efforts to reduce plastic leakage into the environment.
Chandra Asri Group also showcased PLUSRI, a pyrolysis oil produced from plastic waste processed at IPST ASARI, a community-based waste management facility supported by the company. The product has already been incorporated into the company's operational activities.
The development of PLUSRI forms part of Chandra Asri Group's broader efforts to encourage the conversion of plastic waste into products with practical and economic value. Beyond helping reduce waste generation, the initiative also contributes to creating economic opportunities for local communities.
The company said these initiatives reflect its commitment to advancing a more sustainable waste management ecosystem through collaboration with government institutions, local communities, and industry partners. By promoting innovative recycling and resource recovery solutions, Chandra Asri aims to support Indonesia's transition toward a more circular economy while creating long-term environmental and social benefits.
