Chandra Asri Group’s CALIBER Promotes Youth’s Role in Low-Carbon Industry
Jakarta. Chandra Asri Group recently held its 2025 CALIBER Challenge program to let young people express their strategic ideas in the low-carbon industry.
CALIBER stands for Chandra Asri Limitless Innovation & Business Strategy Challenge. In its second year, the 2025 CALIBER embraces the theme "The Journey to a Zero-Carbon Building in the Era of Industry 4.0". As the name suggests, this event focuses on developing strategies towards the implementation of low-carbon buildings as part of efforts to drive sustainable industrial transformation. This program acts as a strategic learning tool for students.
Chandra Asri Group’s head of corporate communications Chrysanthi Tarigan said that the company vowed to be #YourGrowthPartner.
"Through CALIBER, we are creating a collaborative space for the younger generation to grow, hone their teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills, which will be crucial for entering the professional world,” Chrysanthi said.
“The case studies featured in CALIBER also encourage the development of relevant and applicable innovations for the future sustainability of the industry.”
The program began accepting submissions in September. The participants then presented their work and toured Chandra Asri’s petrochemical complex in Cilegon, Banten, on Dec. 10-11. The event registered a 252 percent year-on-year increase in registrations.
As many as 363 groups from 81 universities across Indonesia took part in the event. The Chandra Asri Group ran through their proposals and decided to pick 10 groups for the final presentation. These students presented their strategies based on data, technology, and sustainability practices directly to a panel of judges, comprised of experienced practitioners from the Chandra Asri Group.
The judges chose the top three teams with the most comprehensive and applicable ideas and strategies:
- 1st Place: KonsultanITS – Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS)
- 2nd Place: Casting Crowns – Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)
- 3rd Place: Thunderbolts – Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)
Chandra Asri Group also awarded additional awards to teams with outstanding performance:
- Honorable Mention 1: Gasskeun – Gadjah Mada University (UGM)
- Honorable Mention 2: Visioneer – University of Indonesia (UI)
