CDIA Subsidiary Opens 12,000-Cubic-Meter Bitumen Tank in Banten to Strengthen Indonesia Construction Supply Chain
Jakarta. Chandra Daya Investasi (IDX: CDIA), an infrastructure investment holding company under Chandra Asri Group, has officially begun operating a bitumen storage facility with a capacity of 12,000 cubic meters in Merak, Banten, through its subsidiary Redeco Petrolin Utama (RPU).
The project, which broke ground in early December 2025, is now complete, expanding RPU’s service portfolio and strengthening CDIA’s infrastructure to support Indonesia’s construction industry.
As a key material for road construction and maintenance, a stable supply of bitumen is essential to ensuring the smooth execution of infrastructure projects. With the additional storage capacity, RPU aims to maintain the availability of the construction material to meet customer demand.
“For Redeco, this development is not merely an addition to our storage capacity, but also an effort to optimize our existing infrastructure and respond to increasingly diverse customer needs,” RPU President Director Lingga Widastri said at the facility’s inauguration in Merak, Banten, on Friday.
Strengthening Supply Chains and Strategic Collaboration
Lingga also emphasized the importance of adequate storage facilities supported by reliable port services in ensuring the smooth distribution of materials, particularly for the construction sector.
“Through this bitumen tank facility, we hope to help meet material storage needs while strengthening connectivity between logistics facilities and industrial demand. However, we recognize that infrastructure development cannot be undertaken by one party alone. Strong collaboration among facility providers, suppliers, customers and all business partners is needed to ensure that every investment delivers optimal benefits,” she added.
The facility comprises three storage tanks with capacities of 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 cubic meters, respectively. The addition strengthens RPU’s position in providing an integrated logistics ecosystem, with further opportunities for synergy across Chandra Asri Group’s businesses, including Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd., Chandra Shipping International (CSI) and SCG Barito Logistics (SBL).
Operating consistently in Merak, Banten, since 1986, RPU has continued to provide high-standard storage and port services. Supported by two jetties and comprehensive facilities, the company remains committed to optimizing its assets, improving service quality and serving as a reliable partner for industries across Indonesia.
