Thomas Djiwandono Denies Cabinet Talks During Prabowo-Sri Mulyani Meeting

Jakarta. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani recently met with President-Elect Prabowo Subianto, sparking speculations that the former would return to her ministerial post in the upcoming cabinet.

Deputy Finance Minister and Prabowo’s nephew Thomas Djiwandono was present in the meeting. However, Thomas denied that they discussed the cabinet makeup during the talks.

“We did not talk about positions at all, be it Sri Mulyani and Prabowo, or the overall cabinet makeup,” Thomas said on Thursday, as reported by news agency Antara.

According to Thomas, the meeting with Prabowo only revolved around the state budgeting for the 2024 and 2025 financial years.

Sri Mulyani not long ago also uploaded a social media post regarding her meeting with Prabowo.

“His [Prabowo’s] instructions were in line with the priority programs that the new government will achieve in its 2024-2029 term,” Sri Mulyani said.
