Prabowo's Instagram Post Celebrates President Jokowi's Birthday with Unity Message
Jakarta. President-elect Prabowo Subianto extended his warm birthday wishes to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on his 63rd birthday, Friday. Prabowo conveyed his greetings through his personal Instagram account @prabowo on Friday.
"Happy Birthday Mr. President @jokowi," wrote Prabowo.
Prabowo also prayed for Jokowi's health and strength in carrying out his duties as president.
"May you always be under the protection of Allah SWT, and may you be given health and strength in serving the nation and the Indonesian people," Prabowo wrote.
In his Instagram post, Prabowo shared three black-and-white photos capturing moments of togetherness with Jokowi. The first photo showed Prabowo chauffeuring Jokowi in an armored tactical vehicle called Maung, manufactured by state-owned defense company Pindad.
The second photo depicted a moment of mutual respect between Jokowi and Prabowo. This photo was taken when Jokowi conferred an honorary army general rank on Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto during a coordination meeting with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police at Ahmad Yani Sports Hall, TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Lastly, the third photo captured Jokowi and Prabowo shaking hands.
Prabowo had previously lost to Jokowi in the 2014 and 2019 Presidential Elections. However, in the 2024 election, Jokowi supported Prabowo's candidacy. The Gerindra party chairman chose Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as his running mate, and they went on to achieve a resounding victory with 58 percent of the votes.
