Prabowo’s Inauguration Ceremony to Last Just 1.5 Hours, Rundown Shows

Jakarta. The ceremony to inaugurate Prabowo Subianto as president and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice president will last approximately 90 minutes on Sunday, according to a schedule shared by a close aide.

The inauguration ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m. (3:00 GMT) at the legislature building, hosted by the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR).

Habiburokhman, head of Prabowo’s Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) in the House of Representatives, confirmed on Thursday the authenticity of the rundown distributed to the press.

The event will proceed as follows:
•    10:00 - 10:03: National anthem "Indonesia Raya"
•    10:03 - 10:06: Moment of silence
•    10:06 - 10:26: Opening remarks by the MPR Speaker
•    10:26 - 10:28: Presidential oath of office by Prabowo Subianto
•    10:28 - 10:30: Vice-presidential oath of office by Gibran Rakabuming Raka
•    10:30 - 10:40: Signing of inauguration documents
•    10:40 - 10:42: Symbolic exchange of seats from outgoing President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin to Prabowo and Gibran
•    10:42 - 10:47: Remarks by the MPR Speaker to continue the procession
•    10:47 - 11:05: Speech by the new president
•    11:05 - 11:10: Remarks by the MPR Speaker to continue the procession
•    11:10 - 11:15: Prayer recitation
•    11:15 - 11:20: Closing statement by the MPR Speaker
•    11:20 - 11:23: National anthem "Indonesia Raya"
•    11:23: End of the procession
