Solo. President-elect Prabowo Subianto and his running mate in the February election, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, visited President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at the latter’s private residence in Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, just a week before the presidential inauguration.

The closed-door meeting occurred while Prabowo was busy selecting members of his new cabinet, which will introduce several new ministries and state agencies.

Prabowo said earlier that his cabinet will retain some of Jokowi’s ministers.

Gibran, who is Jokowi’s eldest son, confirmed that his father had given some advice about the new cabinet members and composition but the president-elect has the prerogative to decide.

During his visit to Solo, Prabowo was welcomed by Gibran at the airport and they shared a car when heading to the president’s home in the district of Banjarsari.

There was no statement made to the press when Prabowo left Jokowi’s residence around two hours later. He waved at journalists through an open car window on the way to the airport.
