Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto's approval rating surged to 90.5 percent in October 2024, according to a recent survey by Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (LSI) Denny JA, following his inauguration as Indonesia's eighth president.

The survey, conducted between September 26 and October 3, revealed that Prabowo's popularity rating rose from 83.5 percent in January 2024 and rebounded from a slight dip to 82.7 percent in July. Ardian Sopa, a researcher at LSI Denny JA, said that this high approval rating reflects Prabowo's peak popularity.

The survey, titled  "Prabowo at the Peak of Popularity & Key Challenges", also revealed that trust in Prabowo is high across various economic segments, including strong, middle, and low-income groups, all recording approval ratings above 90 percent.

“Currently, Prabowo is at the height of his popularity. LSI Denny JA has been monitoring Prabowo since 2009, with surveys in 2014, 2019, and now in 2024, he has achieved this maximum rating,” Ardian added.

Generationally, support for Prabowo is strongest among Generation Z, with a favorability rating of 92.7 percent, followed by millennials at 90.8 percent and Generation X at 89.9 percent. Baby Boomers recorded significantly lower support at just 15.2 percent.

In terms of religious demographics, approval for the former Defense Minister is relatively balanced among both majority and minority groups, with 90.9 percent approval from Muslims and 87.9 percent from non-Muslims.

The survey also assessed public trust in various state institutions and media. Results indicated that both the President and the Indonesian Military (TNI) enjoy trust ratings above 80 percent, while institutions such as the House of Representatives (DPR), Cabinet, and Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) received less than 80 percent.

One of the standout programs during the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the “Free Nutritious Meal Program,” has garnered public attention, with 80.8 percent of respondents aware of it and 74.9 percent expressing support, indicating a positive reception among the public.

The survey utilized a multirandom sampling method involving 1,200 respondents, with data collected through face-to-face interviews using questionnaires. The survey was conducted from September 26 to October 3, 2024, with a margin of error of ± 2.9 percent. It also included qualitative research to provide more comprehensive results.
