Jokowi Inaugurates 26 Military Hospitals Across Indonesia
Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially inaugurated 26 military-owned hospitals across Indonesia on Monday. The inauguration ceremony took place at the National Defense Center Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of comprehensive health facilities. Hospitals with prepared human resources and adequate facilities to address health emergency conditions, as we have experienced," said Jokowi in Jakarta on Monday.
Wearing matching white shirts, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto accompanied Jokowi on a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities in RSPPN. His vision for RSPPN is to become the primary healthcare reference for Ministry of Defense employees, TNI members, their families, and the wider public, ensuring access to top-notch health services.
RSPPN also functions as an educational hospital for the Faculty of Medicine at the Defense University. Moreover, it stands ready to act as a disaster-response hospital.
Defense Minister Prabowo, a potential successor to President Jokowi based on real count results of the 2024 election, detailed RSPPN facilities, including 1,000-bed capacity inpatient rooms, 11 operating rooms, 90 intensive care beds, and a 55-bed emergency room. The hospital's construction was initiated during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
RSPPN also provides specialized services for neurological and cardiovascular issues, vascular services, such as Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), and advanced diagnostic tools like MRI, CT Scan, 360 panorama, and 4D ultrasound.
The hospital is equipped with robotic and laser devices designed to assist individuals with limb weakness, providing advanced support. Furthermore, RSPPN offers hemodialysis services for patients in need of kidney dialysis, facilitated by a total of 30 machines. In addition to these critical services, RSPPN provides specialized therapies for vascular disorders.
Moreover, RSPPN operates as a center for regenerative medicine, delivering comprehensive services that include cancer surgery and chemotherapy.
