Jakarta. The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) will convene on Monday to appoint an acting chairman replacing Danny Kosasih, who passed away four days ago after suffering a heart attack.

The meeting will take place in Jakarta after Danny's funeral procession, according to Erick Thohir, a member of the FIBA Central Board.

"Indonesia has lost a highly influential figure in basketball. Under Danny Kosasih’s leadership, Indonesian basketball reached its golden era," Erick said. "We won both the men's and women's basketball titles at the SEA Games and successfully hosted the Basketball World Cup. While we honor his contributions, it is also our responsibility to continue his legacy in the sport."

A memorial service was held on Sunday before Danny's remains were cremated, attended by top officials from the national basketball community as well as prominent politicians. Among the guests was Wong Wing Wai, founder of Malaysia's National Community Basketball League.

"To me, Danny Kosasih was the father of Indonesian basketball," Wong said. "His dedication extended beyond his immediate surroundings, as he also contributed to the growth of the sport in other countries. He was always brimming with positive ideas for the betterment of basketball."
