Indonesia Offers to Deploy Peacekeepers, Aid to Gaza
Jakarta. Indonesia is prepared to send peacekeeping troops and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, as part of its commitment to supporting global peace efforts amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region, a senior official said on Thursday.
Presidential Communications Chief Hasan Nasbi said President Prabowo Subianto outlined Indonesia’s response during a plenary cabinet meeting with top coordinating ministers earlier in the day.
“President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia’s neutrality in global affairs continues to earn international respect,” Hasan said. “Several countries involved in ceasefire negotiations in Gaza have directly requested Indonesia’s active role should a peace deal be reached.”
In response, Prabowo expressed Indonesia’s readiness to deploy peacekeeping forces to Gaza, similar to past missions in Lebanon.

“Indonesia will take part in delivering humanitarian aid to the region. The two Hercules planes will be used to carry out airborne food deliveries,” Hasan said.
In addition to emergency aid, Indonesia will offer medical treatment to around 2,000 injured Gaza civilians. The government has designated Galang Island in the Riau Islands province in the country as the treatment center.
“On Galang Island, not only will medical services be provided, but temporary housing will also be arranged for family members accompanying the victims,” Hasan concluded.
