Jakarta. Jordanian King Abdullah II recently congratulated Prabowo Subianto for his expected election win in a heartwarming phone call.

Prabowo uploaded Tuesday a video of the phone call on his Instagram account.

“Happy for you, my brother. Congratulations,” Abdullah II told Prabowo.

“When the time is right, I want to come visit you and congratulate you in person. I’m so, so happy for you. I know that your country needs you. I have known you for a long time. I couldn’t be prouder, my friend,” Abdullah II said.

Prabowo then told the Jordanian king that he really valued the friendship that they shared.

“I hope to see you as soon as possible,” Prabowo said, adding that he had “fond memories” of the Jordanian capital Amman.

Abdullah II is among the many world leaders who have sent their best wishes for Prabowo. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi not long ago also sent a congratulatory letter on the likely election victory.

“I hold the firm conviction, under your sagacious leadership and administration, Indonesia shall persist as a burgeoning and impactful force in domestic, regional, and international arenas,” Raisi wrote in the letter that Prabowo uploaded on X over the weekend.

A preliminary count of the ballots put Prabowo in a substantial lead against his competitors Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo. Official results are not due until March 20 at the latest. Prior to the election, Prabowo --and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka-- previously had been leading the opinion polls taken before the February election.
