Indikator Poll Shows Strong Public Approval for Prabowo–Gibran’s First Year
Jakarta. The majority of Indonesians say they are satisfied with the first year of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, according to a new survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia.
The poll found that 77.7 percent of respondents were “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with the performance of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, researcher Burhanuddin Muhtadi said during a livestream on the organization’s YouTube channel on Saturday.
Meanwhile, around 19.8 percent of respondents said they were not satisfied at all.
Burhanuddin said the positive sentiment was driven by perceptions of assertiveness, strong leadership, anti-corruption efforts, and social assistance programs, including the government’s free nutritious meal (MBG) initiative.
“What’s interesting is that economic performance is not yet a dominant factor behind satisfaction,” he said. “This means the government still has homework to improve the economic fundamentals.”
The survey also measured public sentiment toward household finances one year into Prabowo’s term. About 38.8 percent of respondents said their household economic conditions were better or much better than a year ago.
By comparison, 25.2 percent said conditions were worse, while 36.5 percent reported no change.
Indikator conducted the survey from Oct. 20 to 27, involving 1,220 Indonesian citizens eligible to vote. Sampling was carried out using multistage random sampling. The margin of error was ±2.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
